Kathmandu. The government has declared the best taxpayer on the occasion of the 9th National Tax Day. The Inland Revenue Department has announced the names of the top 15 taxpayers on the last day of the tax week.

According to the department, the list has been drawn on the basis of Fiscal Year 2075/76 for income tax and Fiscal Year 2076/77 for value added tax. According to the department, Vijay Kumar Shah has become the highest tax payer towards personal income tax this year. He owns various liquor companies.

According to the department, Surya Nepal has become the highest tax paying company in the fiscal year 2075/76. Among the exporters, Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd. is the company that pays the highest income tax.

Himal Power Company has been declared as the best industry to pay more income tax. Annapurna Agro Industries Pvt. Ltd. has been declared the highest income tax payer among the agriculture and livestock industries.

Taragaon Regency Hotels Limited has become the highest income tax paying company in the tourism business. IME Limited has paid the highest income tax among the companies dealing in remittances. Navil Bank, which has paid more income tax to banks and financial institutions, has been declared the best.
