Kathmandu. Dhaniram Sharma has been elected as the chairman of Rastriya Banijya Bank. A meeting of the bank's board of directors on Thursday elected Sharma as chairman.

Newly appointed Chairman Sharma has taken oath of office and secrecy before Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Rastra Bank on Thursday as per sub-section 1 of section 127 of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 BS.

Chairman Sharma is the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal. Sharma had earlier been appointed as the director of the bank by the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal.

Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Chintamani Shivakoti and Shivaraj Shrestha, other high officials and Chief Executive Officer of Rastriya Banijya Bank Kiran Kumar Shrestha and other employees were present at the swearing in ceremony.
