Kathmandu. Muktinath Development Bank has partnered with WeChat-Pay, a popular payment service in neighboring China, to promote digital payments. The agreement was signed by Assistant Deputy Chief Executive Officer Til Bahadur Gurung on behalf of Muktinath Development Bank.
Following the agreement, VChat-Pay mobile wallet users will be able to scan the QR code of merchants under Muktinath Bank and pay digitally, the bank said. Chinese tourists or traders visiting Nepal through WeChat-Pay, which is very popular in China, will be able to pay through WeChat-Pay for the purchase of various goods and services.
In order to encourage digital transactions, the development bank has made arrangements to withdraw money from the ATMs of any bank under the Visa network free of charge. Similarly, mobile banking, QR code scan, online loan application, online account opening, internet banking, remittance deposit in the account.
