Kathmandu. The stock market, which had declined 3.12 percent on the first trading day of the year, rose 1.64 percent on Monday. The NEPSE index, which stood at 2488.33 points at the start of trading, remained at 40.64. The number has increased to 2515.03 points.
The transaction amount on this day has decreased by about Rs 2.56 billion compared to the previous day. The turnover on Sunday was more than Rs 8.25 billion while on Monday it was more than Rs 5.60 billion.
The benchmark sensitive index of large companies also rose on Monday. On the same day, the index rose 1.45 percent to 453.75 points.
Shares of 209 companies traded 70,339 times on the day. A total of 118.38 million 488 shares of these companies were traded
Investors in Chandragiri Hills earned the most on Tuesday. Shares of the company rose 9.90 percent to Rs 455. Investors of Citizen Mutual Fund 2 are among the biggest losers. On this day, Nepal Infrastructure Bank is at the forefront in terms of transaction amount. The bank had a turnover of over Rs 436.9 million. Also, the bank's share is the most traded.
