Kathmandu. The Nepal Securities Board (NSB) is preparing to issue licenses to 35 more brokers. Chairman of the board Bhishma Raj Dhungana said that the board has moved ahead with the preparation of issuing licenses to a total of 35 brokers in each state.
The Board has taken up the task with the objective of introducing new institutional and provincial securities brokers to the market. Similarly, in the current context, it is important to emphasize the issue of licensing brokers, which is a priority for the board.
However, the board has not decided whether the broker license will be given to the merchant or to the bank or on leave. According to Chairman Dhungana, the modalities of the process are transparent.
Currently, a total of 50 brokers are working in the stock market. The number of securities brokers in the market will reach 85 as soon as 35 more licenses come into operation. At the same time, investors across the country will be able to trade easily and access to the capital market will be further expanded.
