Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed a new mutation of the Delta species of Kovid-19 in Nepal. Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari said in a press release that a new variant of corona infection has been found in Nepal.
According to the ministry, delta variants of the corona were confirmed in 47 samples and mutations (AYI) were found in three more. At the National Public Health Laboratory, 47 samples were collected from different age groups from different parts of the country. He was sent to Biology (IGIB) on July 12 for sequencing.
The genomic identification of the specimens confirmed the delta variant (B.1.617.2) in all the specimens, the ministry said. In 3 of them, additional mutation 'K417 Enmutation' has been found which is also given the name 'AYI'.
These include the Alpha (B.1.1.7) and Delta variants (B.1.617.2) as the 'Variant of Concern' in Nepal and the Kappa Variant (B.1.617) as the 'Variant of Interest'. 1) It has been confirmed. These variants are more contagious and affect people of all age groups, according to various studies.
