Kathmandu. An 11-member working committee has been elected unopposed under the chairmanship of Prakash Raj Sharma from the 15th annual general meeting of the Nepal Microfinance Bankers Association held today.
A new working committee has been selected under the leadership of Sharma for the next two years. Min Bahadur Bohara has been elected as the vice-chairman of the committee.
Similarly, Ram Bahadur Yadav has been elected as general secretary, Prem Bahadur Pathak as treasurer and Keshav Kumar Poudel as secretary.
Shri Ram Pokhrel, Gangadhar Pandey, Praveen Kumar Lama, Badriprasad Dulal, Binod Acharya and Vimala Yogi have been selected as the members of the committee.
Executive Director of NRB Dev Kumar Dhakal, President of Nepal Bankers Association Bhuvan Dahal, President of Nepal Financial Institutions Association Saroj Kaji Tuladhar, President of Nepal Microfinance Association Jag Bahadur Pokhrel and former presidents of Nepal Microfinance Bankers Association Ram Chandra Joshi and Dharmaraj Pandey addressed the meeting.
As an umbrella organization, the association has been active for the welfare of the microfinance sector since 2063 BS. Out of the current 70, 50 microfinance institutions are affiliated to the association.
