Kathmandu. The big merger between Global IME and Bank of Kathmandu has issue of active employees' union in Bank of Kathmandu.

According to news sources, after Global IME Bank put forward the condition of scrapping the very strong union in Bank of Kathmandu, there has been a lot of commotion. Bank of Kathmandu's employees' union is a union that is much stronger than other banks' employees' unions.

The union, which has been directly influencing most of Bank of Kathmandu's policy decisions, has continued to be active after the merger.

At present, Bank of Kathmandu employees are confused about their post-merger status. Amidst that confusion, the global IME side has become skeptical as the workers' union has become somewhat active.

On the other hand, the leadership of Bank of Kathmandu is not in a position to move ahead ignoring the employees' union. Even Global IME has not ruled out the possibility of Bank of Kathmandu going bankrupt after the union merger. On the other hand, Bank of Kathmandu's union seems to be thinking of allowing the merger process to proceed only after deciding a lot about their future in advance.
