Kathmandu. Mahalakshmi Development Bank's profit has increased by 44.28 percent. The bank has made a net profit of Rs 235 million in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The bank had earned a net profit of Rs 159.7 million in the corresponding period last year. The bank's net interest income has increased by 8.92 percent. Net fees and commission income increased by 58.55 percent and operating profit by 51.47 percent.

The bank has a paid-up capital of Rs 3.34 billion and a reserve fund of Rs 1.70 billion. Deposits have increased by 3.04 percent and loans by 5.84 percent during the period. Similarly, the bank's net worth per share is Rs 171.65 and price-to-earnings ratio is 21.13 times. The bank's earnings per share has risen by Rs 6.79 to Rs 27.59.
