Kathmandu. Passengers from different countries are barred from entering Nepal due to the new variant of Corona virus Omicron. The cabinet meeting on Thursday barred travelers from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Isabatini, Mozambique, Malawi and Hong Kong from entering Nepal.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers has also barred the entry of the passengers coming to Nepal through transit from those countries and also the passengers coming to Nepal by visiting those countries within three weeks.

 It has been decided not to issue on-arrival visa to passengers coming from countries at risk of infection. On Thursday, two new variants appeared in Karnataka, India. Schools have been closed in various states of India. In early November, a new variant of the laboratory coronavirus was discovered in Lancet laboratories in Pretoria, South Africa.
