Kathmandu: Newly appointed spokesperson of the Nepal Army Narayan Silwal has said that the main objective of the army and journalism is to promote the interest of the nation and the people. He said that the two sides could move forward on the basis of traditional harmony by understanding each other's work responsibilities and nature.

Spokesperson Silval said, "The gap in the understanding of the media and the view of the army should be closed on the basis of performance."

Outgoing spokesperson Santosh Ballabh Poudel said that the general attitude towards journalism and his understanding was proved wrong as he was in charge of the spokesperson. He said, "I found the world of journalism to be very conscious and sensitive and gave high priority to the issue of national security, which was different from what I thought." Since the nature of work, capacity and influence are different, all media should not be viewed with one eye. It is important for the people and the national interest to move forward at the same pace. ' Spokesperson Silval has assumed his responsibility. Outgoing spokesperson Poudel has been transferred to the Peace Work Directorate.
