Kathmandu. Shanta Siwakoti, Chief Marketing Manager at Global IME Bank, has been working in the banking sector for over 20 years. Siwakoti, who entered the banking sector in September 2000, is a household name among women working in the Nepali banking sector.
She started her banking career with NIC (now NIC Asia) Bank 20 years ago and after working at the bank for 6 years, she joined the current Global IME Bank. She has been working in Global IME Bank since its inception and has been leading various departments of the bank.
"There have been many ups and downs in my 20-year banking career, but I never took the problems as a problem, as a walking bump, it helped me gain more experience and knowledge," she said.
She says that being a woman never made her feel weak. He says that he has been able to fulfill his great desire to become a banker with the help and support of his family office colleagues.
She started her banking journey at NIC Asia Bank from the assistant level and has been working in various departments till now. While working in the Finance and Treasury Department of NIC Asia Bank for 6 years, she says that she got an opportunity to understand many issues related to the bank.
At Global IME Bank, she has led projects ranging from Treasury, Operations, Marketing, Business Promotion, Branding, Branch Manager to the government's Alternative Promotion Center (APC) fund investment project. She is currently the Bank's Chief Marketing Manager.
Siwakoti's father is also a banker. Her father, who works at Rastriya Banijya Bank, sometimes took her to the bank with him. He says that he opened a bank account at an early age because of his desire to become a banker.
