Kathmandu. The stock market rose on Sunday, the first trading day of the year. On Sunday, the Nepse index increased by 94.92 points and reached 1,956.98 points. A total of 636,590 shares of 230 companies were traded on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), resulting in a turnover of over Rs 2.196 billion. Of the total 230 companies traded on Nepse, the share prices of all but five companies have risen.
The share price of 30 companies has seen a positive circuit in trading. National Hydropower Company, Himalayan Distillery, Guheshwari Merchant Bank and Finance, Progressive Finance, Corporate Development Bank, Reliance Finance, Hydro Electricity Investment and Development, Synergy Power Development, Financialman, Ghalamdi Hwaid. Share prices of financial institutions, Universal Power Company, Nepal Reinsurance Company, General Insurance, NRN Infrastructure Ins Development, Sanima General Insurance, Sanima Life Insurance, CYC Nepal Microfinance Financial Institution and Citizens Investment Fund have risen by 10 percent.
Similarly, the share price of Chhayandi Hydropower and Himal Dolakha Hydropower rose by 9.99 percent. Shares of Bisal Bazar Company, Nabil Balance Fund and Liberty Energy Company rose 9.98 percent.
