48 billion more foreign investment commitment, Rs. 37.04 billion from China

Kathmandu. More than Rs 48 billion foreign investment commitment has been received in the current fiscal year. According to the Department of Industry, which approves foreign investment, foreign investment commitment of Rs. 48.2 billion has been made till July 12 of the current fiscal year.

Which is 49.72 percent more than the previous fiscal year. Last year, foreign investment of Rs. 32.7 billion was committed. This figure is the highest in three years, according to the department. Most of the investment commitment received by Nepal has come in the service sector and tourism sector.

Out of 260 projects, 4 are large, 58 are medium and 198 are small. Out of this, Rs. 22.08 billion has been committed for 88 projects in the service sector. It is mentioned that 4,488 people will get employment in these projects.

Similarly, an investment of Rs. 16.38 billion has been committed for the tourism sector. It has committed Rs 6.96 billion in manufacturing, Rs 1.40 billion in infrastructure, Rs 470 million in ICT-based industries, Rs 56.2 million in energy and Rs 600 million in agriculture and forestry industries.

Most of the investment commitments have come from China. China has committed Rs. 37.04 billion for 203 projects. India is in the second place. Out of which Rs. 2.46 billion has been committed for 12 projects.
