Kathmandu. A businessman in New Road committed suicide after the bank pressured him to pay interest continuously. Sudarshan Ghimire, who was doing business at New Road Ranjana Mall, died because he could not pay the bank loan and his goods got stuck at the northern border.
The businessmen of Ranjana Mall held a program on Thursday and drew the government's attention to the fact that he sacrificed his life after the business went bad and the state policy was to blame for it.
They argued that the government should be serious about the fact that bank interest rates are high, cooperatives are not even withdrawing their money, and traders have committed suicide because their goods are stuck at the border. Ghimire had been doing business by taking loans from banks and cooperatives.
