Commercial banks of Nepal Deposits increased by 5 billion and declined CD ratio

Kathmandu. Deposits in the banking system have started to increase. Deposits in commercial banks increased by 5 billion rupees in one day. According to the statistics of Nepal Rastra Bank, last December 23 deposits increased to 45 trillion 98 billion rupees. On the previous day, Thursday, November 22, there were 45 trillion 93 billion rupees in the banks.

During this period, there has been a general increase in lending by banks. Compared to last Thursday, Friday increased by 1 billion and reached 42 trillion 15 billion rupees. On November 22, banks' loan disbursement was 420 million 14 billion rupees. During that period, the loan-to-deposit ratio (CD) ratio has also decreased slightly. It was 86.41 percent last Thursday and 86.32 percent on Friday.

According to Rastra Bank, deposits of banks and financial institutions also increased by 6 billion rupees and reached 52 trillion 20 billion rupees during that period. This is a one-day statistic from last Thursday to Friday. Last Friday, the deposits of banks and financial institutions were 52 trillion 14 billion rupees.
