20 Commercial banks announced dividend of fiscal year 2078/079 of focus on more cash

Kathmandu. Banks and financial companies are announcing dividend distribution to their shareholders. Out of 26 commercial banks in operation, 20 banks have declared dividends so far. Five of the announced banks have been approved by the general meeting and distributed to the shareholders.

Banks have announced the distribution of dividends to their shareholders from the profits of the last financial year 2078/79. This year, the shareholders of three banks have been left empty-handed. Laxmi Bank, Sunrise Bank and Machhapuchhre Bank have decided not to pay any dividend to the shareholders from last year's profits.

Only three banks are yet to declare dividends from last year's profits. NIC Asia, National Commercial Bank's dividend is yet to be declared. Apart from these, 20 banks have declared dividends. Most of the banks have emphasized on cash rather than bonus shares. This year, many banks will distribute only cash dividends to their investors.

Out of which, Citizens Bank, NCC, Kumari Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Sanima Bank, Bank of Kathmandu and others have passed the resolution of dividend distribution after completing the general meeting. These banks proposed to give 9%, 11%, 12.50%, 10.98% and 20.95% dividends to their shareholders from last year's profits respectively.

Similarly, from last year's profit, Global IME Bank has proposed 3 percent bonus and 10.60 percent in cash to distribute a total of 13.60 percent dividend. Similarly, Nepal Investment Bank received 4 percent bonus and 7 percent cash dividend from last year's profit, Everest Bank received 13 percent bonus and 7.68 percent cash for a total of 20.68 percent, Prabhu Bank 8 percent (6.5 percent bonus and 1.50 percent cash) ) and Mega Bank has proposed to give 4 percent bonus and 3.83 percent cash dividend. Nepal SBI Bank is going to give 10.53 percent dividend to its shareholders from last year's profit. The bank is going to distribute 7 percent bonus and 3 percent cash dividend for tax purposes.

On the other hand, Century Bank is going to distribute only 5 percent dividend from last year's profit. The bank will distribute 4.75 percent bonus shares to the shareholders and 0.25 percent cash dividend for tax purposes. NMB Bank will distribute 8.25 percent cash dividend (including tax) to its shareholders, Siddharth Bank will distribute 1.2.50 percent bonus shares and 0.66 percent cash for tax purposes, totaling 13.16 percent dividend.

Similarly, Nabil Bank will distribute a total of 30% dividend to its shareholders with 18.5% bonus and 11.5% cash. Prime Commercial Bank has proposed 8.95 percent and Nepal Bank has proposed 12 percent dividend distribution.

From last year's profit, Himalayan Bank has proposed to distribute 8 percent bonus and 11.11 percent in cash for a total of 19.11 percent and Civil Bank has proposed to distribute 5 percent bonus shares and 0.26 percent dividend for tax purposes.
