India's stock market has been shaken by the fear of the rapidly spreading corona epidemic in China. 22December 2022, the Sensex closed at 59845.29 with a huge fall of 1.61 percent or 980.93 points. While NSE Nifty has decreased by 320.55 points or 1.77 percent to close at 17806.8 points. Shares of Tata Steel, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, Bipro, IndusInd Bank, L&T and Maruti Suzuki all fell.

Amid the devastation caused by the new sub-variant of Covid in China, the Asian stock market has seen weakness. Other markets in Asia, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong also continued to show negative trends.

A sharp selling trend has been observed among foreign institutional investors in India. According to the data, on Thursday, FIIs withdrew Rs 928.23 crore from the Indian market. However, international crude oil prices rose by 1.89 percent to $82.51 per barrel. – Agency
