Prime Minister Prachanda and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane meeting on discussion cabinet expansion

Kathmandu. A meeting was held between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane. The Secretariat of the Prime Minister said that during the meeting held this evening at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, current political issues including the expansion of the Cabinet were discussed.

With Prime Minister Dahal taking the vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on Tuesday, discussions are going on among the ruling leaders regarding the expansion of the Cabinet. During the meeting held between Prime Minister Dahal and CPN (UML) President KP Sharma Oli this morning only, the expansion of the Cabinet was discussed. Prime Minister Dahal received more than two-thirds of confidence votes on Tuesday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and Prime Minister Dahal as the Prime Minister on 10th of January. After getting the vote of confidence, although the homework to complete the cabinet has started, the cabinet has not been expanded for the fifth day today. Currently, the government consists of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane and Ministers without departments Rajendra Rai, Jwalakumari Sah and Damodar Bhandari and Abdul Khan.

Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), National Independent Party, National Democratic Party, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Democratic Socialist Party, CPN (Unified Socialist), Civil Liberation Party, Janmaat Party and some independent MPs addressed Prime Minister Dahal on Tuesday. He gave a vote of confidence.
