Kathmandu. District Court Tanahun cleared actor Paul Shah on the charge of raping a minor. The single bench of Judge Komal Prasad Acharya acquitted Shah after arguing that the claim in the rape charge was insufficient.

In the debate, 5 lawyers, including three seniors, debated from Shah's side, while one government lawyer participated from Zaherwala's side. The district court also acquitted Paul Shah's manager Krishna Joshi. Joshi was accused of playing a supporting role in the case.

A case was filed against Shah in Tanahun and Nawalparasi East on the charge of raping a girl. In the same case, the District Court Nawalparasi East had acquitted Shah in the rape case and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months in prison on the charge of child sexual abuse and 1 million rupees compensation to the victim.
