Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has reduced the 'overnight' liquidity facility. It is mentioned in the half-yearly review of the monetary policy of the current financial year that the overnight liquidity facility, which was previously provided by the banks at an interest rate of 8 percent, has been reduced to 7 percent.
"Overnight liquidity facility under the daily liquidity facility provided by this bank at a bank rate of 8.5 percent to banks and financial institutions will be provided at a policy rate of seven percent", said the review.
Similarly, in the review of the monetary policy, due to the careful and strict policy direction, the situation has gradually improved and the surplus has started to remain since October 2079, the consumer price growth rate has also started to decrease somewhat, however, the restrictions on the import of some items and the provisions regarding the cash margin to be kept when opening letters of credit have been fully implemented.
