Kathmandu. The second National Economist Conference has started in Kathmandu from Friday. Organized by the National Economic Concern Society, Nepal, the conference, which has the slogan "Our campaign to build a self-sufficient and advanced economy", will last for two days.

Rashtra Bank Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari said that although Nepal's economy is not bad compared to some countries in the world, there are challenges. He said that although there were some negative indicators during the Corona years, positive indicators are now seen in many areas. The governor's official opined that structural reforms should be made.

In the opening program of the conference, Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa said that after reaching a conclusion about the economic problems of the country, economists should give necessary suggestions to the state.

He insisted that the relevant bodies in the economic sector of the country should provide reliable data about the economic situation. In the program, Chairman of the Independent Energy Producers Association (IPAN) Krishna Prasad Acharya said that after the private sector came into the hydropower sector, although there was a lot of development, the business could not be increased. He said that the obstacles for the development of the identified issues have not been removed.

Papers have been presented on the current topics of the first day of the conference. The conference was attended by economists, representatives of Bankers Association, Federation of Industries and Commerce of Nepal, Federation of Industries, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce.

According to the organizer, conclusions will be drawn by discussing various topics of the economy through the conference to create an investment-friendly environment, promote the indigenous industry and provide support in the information technology sector.
