Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority has started to manage one insurer and one insurance agent through online system. The authority has started the management of agents through this system since 5th of March.

The authority has started the work to implement the provision of one insurer and one insurance agent in the Insurance Act, 2079. With the implementation of this provision, the situation of insurance agents having to go to the company to renew their license has come to an end. With the implementation of the online system by the Insurance Authority, they can now renew their license from home.

For that, the insurance agents have to go to the website of the insurance authority. The agent who goes to the said website has to click on the option of e-services and online payment surveyor and agent. After going to that, the agent should identify whether his license i.e. license is duplicated (affiliated to more than one company) or not.

If the insurance agent is found to be affiliated with only one company, he has to note two different details for renewal. One is your license number, the other is the date the license number was issued. It is stipulated that the date should not be Nepali but English date.
