Kathmandu. 21 commercial banks has earned a 48.70 billion 49 lakh rupees profit till the third quarter of the current financial year. The profit made by banks is 11.67 percent more than the same period last year. Banks earned a net profit of 43.61 billion rupees in the third quarter of last year. By the end of March of the current financial year, Nabil Bank has earned the highest profit while Krishi Bikas Bank has earned the lowest profit.

Nabil Bank has earned a net profit of 5 billion 11 crore 61 lakh 74 thousand rupees till the third quarter of the current year. This is 52.63 percent more than the same period of last financial year. In the same period of the last financial year, the bank had earned a profit of 3.35 billion 2 million rupees.

As such, Krishi Bikas Bank, which earned the least, earned a profit of 1.4 billion 10.37 thousand rupees till the third quarter of the current year. The profit earned by the bank this year is 45.36 percent less compared to the same period last year. Krishi Bikas Bank earned a profit of 4.36 billion 1.3 million rupees during the same period last year.

Global IME Bank is on the second position and NIC Asia is on the third position among the most profitable banks. Global has made a profit of 4.35 billion by the end of March, while the profit of NIC Asia is also more than 4.1 billion.

Everest Bank is the best in terms of profit growth : Everest Bank has the highest profit growth rate. In the first 9 months of the last financial year, this bank earned a net profit of 1.51 billion rupees, until the same period of the current financial year, it has earned a net profit of 2.46 billion rupees. The profit of the bank increased by 62.63 percent during the review period.

Standard Chartered Bank is in the second list of banks that increase profit. The bank, which made a profit of 1.62 billion rupees last year, has increased its profit by 60.25 percent till the review period of the current year. The profit has increased by 60.25 percent while that of Nabil Bank has increased by 52.63 percent.

According to the financial statement published by the banks, the net profit of 7 commercial banks has decreased. The profit of Krishi Bikas Bank has decreased the most by 45.36 percent, while that of Sunrise Bank has decreased the least by 8.33 percent. The profit of Siddharth Bank has decreased by 28.65 percent while the profit of Citizens Bank has decreased by 18.72 percent. Similarly, the profit of Nepal Bank, Machhapuchche Bank, Prime Commercial Bank has decreased by 18.72 percent, 12.88 percent and 9.35 percent respectively.
