Kathmandu. The 'First Cooperative Digital Conclave' held in Kathmandu under the organization of the National Cooperative Federation has been completed with the issuance of a seven-point commitment letter. The conclave, which started on Thursday with the theme 'Digitizing Co-operative: Achieving Vision 2030'.
More than 200 cooperative workers, government agencies, technology providers and stakeholders present at the Cooperative Digital Conclave issued a seven-point joint commitment letter.
DB Basnet, vice president of the federation, said that they have collectively declared seven points of commitment to realize the vision of digital Nepal by making positive changes in the socio-economic development of Nepal through digitization with full adherence to the values, beliefs and principles of cooperatives.
The participants of the program have promised to transform the cooperative workplace into full quality digitization by 2030. Likewise, cooperative workers have pledged to establish strong cyber security measures within cooperative structures, protect sensitive data, and create an environment that ensures the trust of members and stakeholders as the first priority.
Commitment letter
National Cooperative Federation Ltd. We, the cooperative workers, government agencies, technology providers and stakeholders present at the first cooperative digital conclave organized by Nepal on the 1st and 2nd of Chait 2080 with the theme 'Digitizing Co-operative: Achieving Vision 2030', issue this Commitment Letter-2080. We collectively issue this commitment to realize the vision of Digital Nepal by making a positive change in the socio-economic development of Nepal through digitization with full adherence to the values, beliefs and principles of cooperatives.
1) Committed to Digitization: We are committed to transforming cooperative workplaces into full quality digitization by 2030, embracing efficiency, transparency and inclusiveness.
2) Policy Advocacy: We are committed to advocate for the development and implementation of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) policies at the national level to create an environment conducive to cooperative digitization and innovation.
3) Skills exchange and capacity building: We are committed to sharing knowledge and best practices related to cooperative digitization in communities by equipping members and leadership with the necessary skills and resources through digital literacy.
4) Cyber Security: We are committed to establishing strong cyber security measures within cooperative structures, protecting sensitive data and creating an environment that ensures the trust of members and stakeholders as the first priority.
5) Cooperation and partnership: We are committed to strengthening self-regulation and good governance through transparency and accountability by enhancing cooperative partnerships with government agencies, technology providers and stakeholders to accelerate the pace of digital transformation in cooperatives.
6) Empowerment and Continuous Improvement: We are committed to making members and stakeholders actively participate in the digital transformation process, providing innovation through study and research, promoting a culture of collaboration and shared ownership and building consistency, and continuously implementing, evaluating and adapting the digitalization strategy.
7) Inclusive and sustainable development: Within the ecosystem of the campaign, we are committed to give priority to the topics of inclusiveness, gender equality, youth motivation and environmental sustainability to distribute the benefits obtained through cooperative digitization to the members proportionately.
