Kathmandu - Two people were killed in a clash between two groups during the celebration of Holi in Lalitpur's Dholahiti. According to Lalitpur Police, two persons were killed in a fight at night over a dispute yesterday afternoon.
The deceased were 28-year-old Rovas Rai from Sunsari's Dharan and Dholhiti and 30-year-old Pujan Rai from Panchthar and Khumaltar, spokesperson of District Police Complex Lalitpur, Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Subedi informed.
The police got the news only after bringing the injured to Patan Hospital at 11 pm. The police have charged 18 people suspected to be involved in the incident.
277 people were arrested on Holi
The police have arrested 277 people on charges of rioting and spreading color during the celebration of Holi. Among those arrested are 262 men and 15 women, said Bhupendra Khatri, Chief of District Police Complex Kathmandu and Senior Superintendent of Police.
Similarly, the team of District Police Complex Kathmandu said that they have seized 664 vehicles. Out of which, there are 649 four-wheelers and 15 two-wheelers, according to District Police Complex Kathmandu.
