Kathmandu. Based on the active cases of less than 100 corona-infected districts, the government is preparing to gradually reduce the number of cases in such districts from June 10.

All branches of the bank will be open from Sunday

After the lock-down, most of the banks have started operating all the branches.

They have been providing services from limited branches under the direction of NRB. But from Wednesday, most banks have started operating all branches. Banks are preparing to provide services from all branches from Sunday, May 10.

Prabhu Bank has announced to operate all the branches by issuing public notice.

Nepal Investment Bank has also opened as many branches as possible.

The format prepared by Covid (19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) will be approved by the Council of Ministers and will be extended. It will come into effect only from June 1. The government has made the latest preparations based on the suggestions of experts.


In the first phase, essential service providers will be allowed to open. This will include industries that produce and sell essential commodities. In the second phase, i.e. in the second week of July, economic activity will be increased based on the experience of the first phase. Construction working environment will be created. Shops selling and distributing all kinds of goods will be allowed to open under certain rules.

In addition to allowing the sale and distribution of daily necessities including agriculture to be facilitated after the third phase, i.e. 15th of Ashad, private vehicles will be allowed to operate by setting certain criteria. Initially, the push-pull system will be implemented. Banks and financial institutions will be allowed to open fully, while hair cutting salons, beauty parlors and sports related institutions will be opened.

In the fourth phase, i.e. in the third week of July, religious places will be open. In which general gathering places will also be allowed to operate.

In the fifth phase, i.e. on the 1st of July, permission will be given to operate schools, universities, entertainment and construction related services. Infrastructure construction work will be done. Parks, swimming pools, playgrounds, cinema halls will also be opened at this stage.

In the sixth phase, all sectors will be allowed to run smoothly. But, for that, certain rules have to be followed. In view of the risk of Covid-19, a proposal has been made to seal the area in case of an epidemic. Before taking the proposal to the Council of Ministers on Sunday, the committee will continue discussions with various sectors today and tomorrow and will make further amendments if necessary.
