New record set in Nepali stock market,  Rs 6 billion turnover per day

Nepse increased by 36 points

The index closed at 1,778.12, gaining a massive 36.32 points. The last time that the index closed above 1,780 was way back, on October 23, 2016. 


Kathmandu. A new record has been set in the Nepali stock market. On Thursday 19 Nov 2020, the last day of the year, the share turnover was more than Rs 6 billion, setting a new record.

All the subgroups traded in Pse have risen on Thursday. The Nepse index, which measures share turnover, has also risen above 30 points. Investors in the stock market are happy after seeing the excitement in the market.


Chairman of the Nepal Investors Forum Chhotelal Rauniyar said that Thursday's trading has provided more encouragement to investors.

The Nepse index, which once fell to 1100, is now close to 1800. Rauniyar says that the market will not fall as before. He estimates that even if the market declines from time to time due to correction, it will not return to its old state.

Nepse increased by 36 points

The Nepse index, a measure of share turnover, rose by 36.32 points to 1,778.12 points on Thursday. The Sensitive Index, which measures the trading activity of Class A companies, also rose by 1.47 percent, or 4.98 percent.

A total of 14 million 62 thousand 5 hundred and seven shares of 198 companies have been bought and sold from 56 thousand 341 transactions during the day.

Accordingly, the transaction amount has reached Rs. 6 billion 116.7 million 30 thousand 71. This is the largest in the history of the Nepali stock market.
