Commercial banks of Nepal profits fell down 4 percent in the first quarter 2077/078

Kathmandu. The Covid epidemic has also affected the profits of banks and financial institutions. Profits of commercial banks have declined in the first quarter of the current fiscal year due to the epidemic. Profits of most banks have declined during the period.

Looking at the unrevised financial statements of 27 commercial banks for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the profit has decreased by 4.22 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In the first three months of the last fiscal year, the profit of commercial banks was 15.11 billion 48.72 million with 14.47 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to the unrevised financial statements of the concerned banks, the profit of Global IMME Bank during the period was Rs. 1.48 billion, which is more than any other bank. Nabil Bank is the second most profitable bank. The bank has earned a profit of Rs 1.35 billion in the same period.

In the first quarter of the current fiscal, NIC Asia Bank raised Rs. It has become the third most profitable commercial bank earning Rs 1.21 billion.

Similarly, Prime Commercial Bank Rs 1.17 billion, Prabhu Bank Rs 850 million, Rastriya Banijya Bank Rs 829.2 million, Nepal Investment Bank Rs 623.8 million, Kumari Bank Rs 602.5 million, Mega Bank Rs 607.9 million and Nepal Bangladesh Rs. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 571.1 million, Nepal Bank Rs 554 million and Citizens Bank International Rs 515.5 million.

Similarly, the state-owned Agriculture Development Bank and Laxmi Bank earned a profit of Rs 334.5 million and Rs 312.3 million respectively in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Similarly, Bank of Kathmandu, Century, Nepal SBI and Civil Bank have made a profit of Rs 242.4 million, Rs 222 million, Rs 205 million and Rs 96.6 million respectively.

In the same period, Siddhartha Bank had a profit of Rs 506 million, Standard Chartered, Sunrise and Sanima Bank Rs 401.3 million, Rs 383.9 million and Rs 373.3 million respectively, while Himalayan, Machhapuchhe, Everest and NCC Bank made a profit of Rs 365.9 million. 369 million and 334.7 million rupees.
