Kathmandu. On the last trading day of the year, the Nepse index closed with an increase of 18.43 points. The continuously rising Nepse index has broken the record of the highest point. The Nepse index had reached 1925 points. However, the Nepse index has stopped falling at 1893.24 points till the market closes.
Shares worth more than Rs 7.61 billion have been traded. A total of 1,71,88,099 shares of 201 companies have been traded 70,003 times. The highest priced shares have been bought and sold by Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited. Shares of the company worth more than Rs 581.29 million have been bought and sold. The company's share price has been fixed at Rs 1,337 in reinsurance today.
The biggest gainer was NMB Microfinance Financial Institution Limited. The company's share price has risen 10 percent. The share price of this organization has been fixed at Rs. 1,089. Similarly, shares of Panchakanya Power Company Limited, Himalayan Energy Development Company Limited and Ankhu Khola Janavidyut Company Limited have risen by more than 9 percent.
Of the 12 groups traded, the index of five groups has increased while the index of the remaining groups has decreased. The banking group increased by 2.7 per cent, hydropower group by 0.46 per cent, other group by 1.02 per cent and mutual fund group by 0.62 per cent, while production and processing group increased by 0.09 points. The industry group accounted for the highest decline of 5.33 percent today.
