Economic growth rate of Nepal will be 0.6% for this year  -  World Bank

Kathmandu. The World Bank has projected that Nepal's economic growth rate will be only 0.6 percent in the current Fiscal Year 2077/88.

The World Bank has made such a projection by releasing the first report of 2021, Global Economic Prospects. Earlier, the World Bank had projected that Nepal's economic growth rate would be only 0.6 percent in the current fiscal year.

The government has claimed that the economic growth rate will be around 7 percent in the current fiscal year through the budget.

The World Bank has projected that India will bear the heaviest economic losses in the South Asian region this year due to the Corona epidemic. The World Bank estimates that India's economic growth will be negative at 9.6 percent this year.

Bangladesh's economic growth is projected at 0.7 percent this year.

The Maldives has the highest economic growth rate in the South Asian region, according to the World Bank. According to the World Bank, the Maldives' economic growth rate is 9.5 percent.

Overall, South Asia's economic growth is projected at 6.7 percent this year, while the global economy is projected at 4 percent.
