Agriculture Development Bank issues 6 billion agricultural bonds

Kathmandu. The Agriculture Development Bank has issued an 'agricultural bond' of Rs 6 billion to manage the resources invested in agriculture. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel inaugurated the bond today. The Agriculture Development Bank has launched Krishi Bond, Kisan Credit Card and App on its 54th anniversary. As per the policy taken by the budget, the Agriculture Development Bank has planned to issue agricultural bonds worth Rs 24 billion this year alone. The Agriculture Development Bank has invited applications from 26 banks, including the Infrastructure Bank.

The Agriculture Development Bank has disbursed Rs. 132 billion in loans. Chairman of the bank Laxmi Prapanna Niraula informed that 28 percent of the total loans extended to the agriculture sector. Chairman of the Board of Directors Laxmi Prapan Niraula said that the bank has so far collected Rs 144 billion in deposits and disbursed Rs 152,000 in loans.
