Jyoti Development Bank's profit increased by 8.81

Kathmandu: Jyoti Development Bank has earned a profit of Rs 305.5 million in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. Profit is 8.81% higher than last year. Last year, the bank had earned a profit of only Rs 288.34 million. The bank's net interest income declined by 12.05% during the quarter, while operating profit increased by 0.08%. Jyoti's net interest income, which was Rs 736.9 million last year, has come down to Rs 648 million in the quarter.

 The bank has increased its operating profit from Rs 401.3 million to Rs 437.32 million. Its distributable profit is Rs. 157.5 million. As of mid-January, the bank has collected Rs 44.75 billion in deposits and disbursed Rs 34.49 billion in loans.

At present, its paid-up capital is Rs 3.49 billion and its reserve fund is Rs 865.9 million. Its NPL ratio has come down from 0.80% to 0.64%. Jyoti has an annual earnings per share of Rs 17.49 (annualized) and a net worth of Rs 139.39.
