Kathmandu: Sanima Bank has made public its financial details of declining net profit. Sanima's net profit decreased by 7.38% to Rs 1.62 billion in the second quarter of the current fiscal year compared to last year. The bank had made a profit of Rs 1.14 billion in the same period last year. As of mid-January, Sanima's distributable profit is Rs. 892.67 million.
Compared to last year, both net interest income and operating profit have declined. Net interest income decreased by 7.98% to Rs. 1.99 billion. Similarly, operating profit also declined by 7.28% to Rs. 1.5 billion. As of mid-January, Sanima has collected Rs 110.24 billion in deposits and invested Rs 101.64 billion in loans.
Sanima's NPL ratio has risen to 0.58% from 0.41% last year. The cost of funds has come down from 7.33% to 5.16%. The base rate is 6.83% till mid-December. The paid up capital has reached Rs. 9.68 billion. The reserve fund has Rs 3.68 billion and retained earning is Rs 892.6 million. Sanima's earnings per share has decreased by Rs 4.13 from last year to Rs 22.02. It was Rs 26.15 last year. Its net worth per share is 140 rupees 28 paise.
