Kathmandu: The stock market index rose by 8.66 points on Wednesday and stopped at 2543.03 points. Despite the rise in the Nepse index on Wednesday, the transaction amount has declined. The market, which had a turnover of Rs 10 billion in the previous trading days, has shrunk to Rs 7 billion today.
The highest earners are shareholders of Gorkhaj Finance, Guheshwari Merchant Banking and Finance and Infinity Finance Limited. Shares of Gorkhaj Finance rose 10 percent, while those of Guheswari and Infinity Finance rose more than 9 percent.
The biggest loser is Siddhartha Microfinance Financial Institution Limited. The company's share price fell 6.38 percent. Global IME Bank Limited has bought and sold the highest priced shares. Shares of the bank worth Rs 522 million have been sold.
Of the 12 groups that came into business, the index of 5 groups has increased while the index of the remaining groups has decreased. The highest increase was in the finance group. The group's index rose 3.27 percent. Today, the banking group increased by 1.5 percent, hotel group by 2.14 percent, development bank group by 0.04 percent, finance group by 3.27 percent and non-life insurance group by 0.47 percent.
