Deposits in banks and financial institutions increased by 9.2 percent

Kathmandu. Deposits in banks and financial institutions increased by 9.2 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Such deposits had increased by 6.2 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.

On a year-on-year basis, deposits with banks and financial institutions increased by 22.0 percent in mid-January 2012/13. Banking and Finance in December 2077

The share of current, savings and term deposits in deposits is 8.5 percent, 33.6 percent and 49.2 percent respectively. In the previous year, the share was 8.5 percent, 31.9 percent and 49.2 percent respectively.

Institutional deposits accounted for 42.5 percent of the total deposits of banks and financial institutions in mid-January 2012/13. The share of such deposits was 45.1 percent in mid-January 2012.
