Kathmandu. Kumari Bank Limited has targeted the tourism entrepreneurs of Thamel under the 'Covid-19 Affected Thamel Tourism Business Revival Loan' scheme. Under the scheme, the bank will provide collective loans to businesses that have been profitable for two consecutive years before the Kovid epidemic.
During the interaction program with tourism entrepreneurs, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Kumari Bank, Manish Timalsina, said that the bank would provide unsecured loans to tourism entrepreneurs who have taken loans from other banks.
In order to get a loan, you have to form a group of 3 people. Two types of interest rates will be maintained for this loan. Entrepreneurs who want to maintain the same interest rate for one year will be able to get loan at 10 percent and the loan will be provided by maintaining the interest rate at 2 to 4 percent at the base rate of the bank. The bank has stated that the interest rate on the base rate will change every month. Necessary facilitation for the loan will be done by Thamel Tourism Development Council. Kumari Bank has entered into an agreement with Thamel Tourism Development Council to provide loan of Rs 1.5 million to tourism entrepreneurs on business collateral.
However, the businessman has complained that no one is eligible to get the loan as the bank has set strict conditions. As there are no entrepreneurs who do business without taking loans from banks and financial institutions, there is a demand from the entrepreneurs to change it.
