Kathmandu. The stock market index Nepse closed higher on Thursday, the last trading day of the year. Nepse has increased by 25.23 points and reached 2636.68 points. This is the highest point so far. The Sensitive Index also rose by 6.77 points to 481.78.

Of the 12 groups that traded on Thursday, the sub-indices of three groups declined but all others rose. Non-life insurance, life insurance and microfinance sub-indices declined.

Similarly, shares of 206 companies worth Rs 8.76 billion were traded on the day. The highest turnover was in NIC Asia Bank. The second is Nepal Infrastructure Bank. Shares of NIC Asia worth over Rs 560 million and Infrastructure worth over Rs 500 million were traded.

The highest profit has been made by the investors of Nepal Hydro Developers. The company's share price has risen 10 percent to Rs 275.
