Kathmandu. Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari has been involved in the QR code operation campaign. Most of the time spent by the Governor, who has been urging and instructing various banks and financial institutions to focus on digital payments through QR code.

They are urging various banks and financial institutions to introduce QR code not only inside Kathmandu but also outside Kathmandu.

At his request and direction, various banks and financial institutions are launching QR codes in different places within Kathmandu. He has launched QR code in vegetable markets including Naxal, Kalimati, Balkhu, Kuleshwor and Tinkune. He has also launched QR code in various gold and silver shops, auto rickshaws, temples and other places.

NRB has not only requested but also directed to keep QR code payment service in the vegetable and fruit markets near the central offices and branches of commercial banks. Various commercial banks have been following the same and launching QR codes in different places.
