Kathmandu. The government has started implementing health insurance program in all 77 districts this fiscal year. The Health Insurance Board formed in 2072 BS has started implementing health insurance program in all 77 districts.
Health insurance program will be started in Taplejung, Dolakha, Bara, Sarlahi, Manang and Mustang on April 9. After that, it will be implemented in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts as well. Madhav Lamsal informed.
After paying Rs 3,500 to a family of up to five people through the insurance program, the members of the family will be able to get medical treatment worth Rs 100,000 at a government-designated hospital.
After having more than five members, the insurance amount will have to be increased at the rate of 700 per member. There is an arrangement for more than five members to get free treatment from Rs 20,000 to Rs 200,000 per member.
The board has listed 375 government and private hospitals across the country for the insurance program.
