Balananda Sharma as the head of CCMC

Kathmandu. The government has appointed former Army chief Balananda Sharma as the head of the Covid 19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC). A cabinet meeting held on Monday appointed Sharma as the coordinator of the CCMC, a minister said. Sharma has been appointed as the head of CCMC as per the provisions of the Covid Crisis Management Ordinance.

In such a complicated situation, the former Sharma has come under the leadership of CCMC. Sharma will have to act as the chief strategist and recommender to liberate the country from the wrath of Corona. Sharma is also the head of the National Defense University.

The ordinance provides for a Covid 19 Crisis Steering Committee above the CCMC. The committee will be headed by the Prime Minister himself and will have Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Health, Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Minister of Finance, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Secretary and Chief of Army Staff. The ordinance stipulates that the member secretary of the board of directors will be the head of CCMC.
