Kathmandu. The Health Insurance Board has also started preparations to run insurance programs in Kathmandu and Lalitpur. Due to the corona infection, the program could not be implemented as per the target in these two districts. Damodar Basaula informed.

Currently, the program operates in 75 districts. 4.5 million citizens have already joined the insurance. The board plans to cover 50 percent of households in insurance in the current fiscal year.

However, he said that the health insurance program could not be implemented properly due to lack of necessary infrastructure and manpower. Families with 5 members participating in the scheme will be able to get medical treatment up to Rs 1 lakh by paying Rs 3,500 annually.
