Kathmandu. We are talking about co-pilot Pema Lama with Captain Sherpa seen in the photo. She is also the wife of Captain Angelu Sherpa.
Pema Lama, who has been flying Buddha Air for the past few years, is not afraid to fly as a girl? That question comes up a lot.
People who believe that women can't do adventurous things still find it surprising that women take up the profession of pilot, but Pema Lama's courage has shattered that belief.
Born in 1991 in Phaplu, Solu, Pema has been a pilot at Buddha Air since 2012. A total of 29 women in Nepal have obtained pilot's license to fly aircraft. Pema is one of them. After getting her SLC, Pema came to Kathmandu in 2005 to pursue higher education.
To get flight related training, a Nepali citizen had to get a letter of recommendation from the Flying Authority. After receiving a letter of recommendation from the authority, she arrived in the Philippines in March 2009 for a 15-month training course. There she took 15 months of flight training. In the beginning, there were theoretical studies on flight. Until he took theoretical training, he did not know what it was like to be a pilot.
His theoretical training was over, and experimental studies began. Then she finally got to enjoy flight training. Recalling that moment, she said, "After 15 months of training in the Philippines, I thought I would be able to return to Nepal and fly."
She returned to Nepal in July 2010 after completing her training. He had enough enthusiasm and vigor. But that passion did not last long. The reason was unemployment. She spent ४० 4 million training in the Philippines.
