Kathmandu. Pratap Jung Pandey is to become the chairman of Civil Bank. The Board of Directors of Civil Bank is about to elect a new chairman after the police detained the chairman of the bank Ichchha Raj Tamang on the charge of cheating through a cooperative.

According to a source, the board of directors is preparing to elect a new chairman within a year. Directors Pratap Jung Pandey and Ambir Bogati had expressed their desire for the chairmanship. In the end, all the directors including Bogati have agreed to make Pandey the chairman.

Pratap Jung is the manager of the bank. According to the bank's latest annual report, he is also the bank's largest shareholder. Pandey became an investor in Civil Bank after the then International Leasing and Finance Company merged with Civil Bank. He was elected to the board of directors from the post-merger general assembly.
