Lalitpur. Four members of a family have died in a gas explosion at Mangal Bazaar in Patan. According to the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, four members of the same family died in the fire on Friday evening. The deceased have been identified as Laxmikrishna Tamrakar, his daughter Anjana Tamrakar, daughter-in-law Ranjana Tamrakar and grandson Nirjal Tamrakar.

Police and locals have rescued five people. The injured are undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital. Police initially estimated that the fire was started by a lighted lamp during the Mhas Puja and later a gas explosion caused great human loss. It is suspected that the gas cylinder caught fire.
