Kathmandu. Loan assistance has been received from the International Fund for Agricultural Development. A subsidiary loan agreement of US ८ 83.36 million has been signed between the Government of Nepal and the Agriculture Development Bank for an inclusive value chain project for agricultural transformation to be operated by the Agriculture Development Bank through the Ministry of Finance.
The program was signed by Anil Kumar Upadhyay, Chief Executive Officer of the Bank and Dakaram Tiwari, Acting Chief of the Public Debt Management Office on behalf of the Government of Nepal. It is estimated that 125,000 farmers will benefit from this project within a period of 5 years. The project, aimed at developing and expanding the agricultural value chain, aims to provide concessional loans to farmers as well as increase the capacity of farmers in collaboration with Heffer International.
