Kathmandu. Mega Bank has started branchless banking services in five places in four districts where banking services are not available. Mega Bank has appointed Roshan Khadka in Pauwadumma Gaonpalika 3 of Bhojpur, Kumar Shrestha in Golanjor Gaonpalika 5 of Sindhuli, Mahendra Ghimire in Musikot Municipality Ward No. 5 Deurali of Gulmi, Narayan Pant in Rehabilitation Municipality Ward No. 8 of Kanchanpur and Janaki Rawat in Krishnapur Municipality Ward No. 2 Bangka as business representatives. Branchless banking service has been started.

Under the branchless banking service, there is an arrangement to open an account through a business representative appointed by the bank, deposit and withdraw money in daily account, recharge in Nepal Telecom, Ncell, recharge of Dishome etc.

Since its inception, Mega Bank has been conducting programs giving priority to rural areas with the objective of providing services from Halo to Hydro with the objective of providing banking access to rural areas. Branchless banking services have been an important means of providing financial services in rural areas.
