Kathmandu. Nepal Bank Limited, Nepal's first bank, has seen high growth in both deposit mobilization and credit expansion. Among the 27 commercial banks of Nepal, Nepal Bank is in the first place in terms of increase in deposit collection and Nepal Bank is in the second place in terms of increase in credit expansion.
In January, deposits of Nepal Bank increased by 21.26 percent and credit expansion increased by 28.51 percent. Out of 27 commercial banks, deposits of 16 commercial banks have increased while deposits of 10 commercial banks have declined. The average deposit growth rate of commercial banks stood at 10.37 percent. Similarly, credit expansion of all 27 commercial banks has increased. On an average, credit expansion of commercial banks has increased by 16 percent.
The bank, which provides financial services to around 2 million customers through 213 branches, 147 ATM machines and 47 extension counters across the Kingdom of Nepal, is currently moving ahead as a competitor by providing comprehensive banking services through modern banking technology.
