Banks CD ratio reached above 91%

Kathmandu. Commercial banks have reached the stage of not being able to invest in loans. According to the Nepal Bankers Association, credit investment and deposit mobilization of banks has been slowing down. In the first week of March, the total deposit collection of banks has reached Rs. 43.12 trillion. The deposits of banks, which had collected a total of Rs 43.11 trillion in mid-January, increased by only Rs 1 billion in the first week of February.

Banks' credit investment has increased by only Rs 4 billion in the first week of February. Banks, which had invested a total of Rs 4.155 trillion in the last week of January, have invested a total of Rs 4.159 trillion in the first week of February. Similarly, the CD ratio of banks has risen to 91 percent.
