Kathmandu. In January of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2078/79, the profit of commercial banks has increased by an average of 18.52 percent. The profit of 27 commercial banks has increased by Rs 6.4 billion in January alone as compared to January / February of the current fiscal year.
These banks have earned a profit of Rs 34.20 billion till mid-January, but increased their profit to Rs 40.24 billion in January. According to Nepal Rastra Bank, out of 27 commercial banks operating, Himalayan Bank has increased its profit the most. The bank has increased its profit by 38 percent in one month. The bank, which made a profit of Rs 743.4 million till January, has increased its profit to Rs 1.2 billion by January.
Mega and Krishi Vikas Bank are among those whose profit will not increase even 10 percent in a month. Mega Bank's profit has increased by 6.13 percent in January compared to January. The profit of Agriculture Development Bank has increased by 4.87 percent in the same period. Mega Bank had earned a profit of Rs 1.39 billion by mid-January, while it has reached a profit of Rs 1.48 billion by January.
Similarly, the Agriculture Development Bank had made a profit of Rs 1.42 billion till December this year. The bank has earned an additional profit of Rs 69.3 million in January. At the same time, the bank's profit till mid-January of the current fiscal year stood at Rs 1.49 billion.
